Buchanan FD Receives Federal Grant for Fire Prevention
December 2003

Buchanan Engine is proud to announce to our residents that we received an Assistance to Firefighters FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) grant for the area of fire prevention in the amount of $22,163. The award will be used to enhance our existing fire prevention program through the purchase of a fire prevention trailer, audio/visual presentations, portable tv/vcr, hazard house interactive demonstrator and several other items. Also, we will initiate a smoke detector placement program with the purchase of 800 smoke detectors and batteries and we will have members trained in fire code compliance and detector placement. Our goal is to insure that all residents of our Village are protected by working smoke detectors.

Buchanan FD Receives Visit from Santa Claus
December 2003

On December 21, 2003 Santa Arrived at Buchanan Firehouse aboard one of our fire trucks.  There were many young children anxious to meet and greet him.  All children received gifts and refreshments.   Happy & Safe Holidays to all Village Residents.
